How to decide if you need a massage…

Massage should never cause pain, some sensitivity can be experienced in a deeper tissue massage but at all times communicate with your masseuse for your comfort.

Reasons to get a massage…

  • Increase circulation – reduces edema, muscle soreness and stiffness. Increase of bloodflow for muscle recovery, fitness and overall improved health. Mobilisation of fluids within connective tissue can moderate pain and reduce adhesion within the fascia for improved fascia health and mobility.
  • During massage neurochemical changes make you feel happier and less stressed, long term stress can have physical and emotional damage to the body. Research suggests massage it can lower your heart rate and blood pressure, lessen depression and anxiety and boost your immune system.
  • Busy life and often unconscious posture for work or while driving can create stress and tension within the body. Tension leads to discomfort as the body holds onto these uncomfortable postures. Taking the time for a massage can melt away these tensions and relax the nervous system to restore balance.


When not to get a massage….

  • Skin infection or open wounds,
  • Circulatory problems such as thrombosis, bleeding disorders, blood Clots – on blood thinner medication or Uncontrolled Hypertension
  • Less than 48 hours after injury – during acute inflammation
  • Fever, flu or contagious Diseases
  • Tumours or cancer
  • Kidney Conditions or Liver Conditions
